Creek Clean Up
February 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
First of three activities as part of the ‘Certificate of Creeky Awesomeness, Kaitiaki i te Awa’.
Meet at the Valley Project Community Rooms (262 North Road), at 2pm for a walking bus to Chingford Park. We will be working until 4pm. If the weather is poor, we will go ahead with the Eco-crafting activity instead, and do the creek cleanup on a later date.
What to bring: Gumboots, gloves, sunhat/sunscreen, preparedness to get a little wet, disc golf frisbee if you’re keen for a round using the disc golf course.
Calling all Lovers of the Lindsay awa and creek-users! Join the Certificate of Creeky Awesomeness, Kaitiaki i te Awa ~ with Open VUE, Love the Lindsay and the Valley Project. This is a three-part series of activities linked to the Lindsay awa. Activities include the creek clean-up, a planting session and Eco-crafting activity and will culminate in a glow-worm “Glowing nocturnal” adventure.
If you are unable to make it to each event but would still like to be eligible to go on a “Glowing nocturnal” adventure as part of the Certificate of Creeky Awesomeness, you can still be involved at home!
Demonstrate how you can help keep the creek clean at home by disposing of rubbish responsibly, helping feed native birds by planting a native tree, perhaps you have your own hothouse to help plants thrive or have a fancy collar for your cat?
Please register at the Valley Project ph. 473 8614 or with Kaitrin ph. 425 8959 / 0274609885 if you need more details and to keep updated in case of changes to planned activities. Koha is much appreciated.
