A double bill of short plays written by New Zealand women.

Wings is a tense, tightly-plotted family drama by Jess Sayer, one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed contemporary playwrights. Three estranged sisters reunite after years apart for a road-trip to their mother’s funeral. The journey through their divided presents to a shared past takes the audience with the sisters into the darkness, secrets, and love encompassed by ‘family.’

Women Like Us, by Helen Varley Jamieson, debuted at Dunedin’s Globe Theatre as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of women’s suffrage in New Zealand. Twenty five years later, the play is still hilarious, touching, and asks challenging questions about what we want and deserve from our government today.
