Dunedin Railways own 7 1968 Mitishishi built Dj Diesel Electric Locomotives which now in 2018 celebrate 50 years of operation. The class were built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and numbered originally 64 for the New Zealand Railways Department with a modernisation loan from the World Bank to replace steam locomotives in the South Island. 9 members of the class remain, 7 owned by Dunedin Railways, 1 owned by Mainline Steam and 1 privately owned and both these are based in…
